Vitra Circle Store Campus
Müllheimer Str. 56
79576 Weil am Rhein
Join us for an evening of poetry at the Vitra Circle Store in Weil am Rhein: Slam poets will explore the broad and impactful themes of circularity and sustainability.
From the environment to our relationships, travel, food, and daily choices, sustainability is a topic that touches every aspect of our lives. Our slammers will bring these themes to life with thought-provoking, funny, and fresh perspectives that will make you think, laugh, and reflect.
Expect a diverse mix of performances that challenge, entertain, and inspire.
How poetry slams work:
At this poetry slam, poets will have six minutes to present their self-written works. No props are allowed, and performances cannot be primarily sung. The audience plays a crucial role by voting for their favourite poets after each round based on factors such as creativity, delivery and emotional impact to determine who makes it to the finals. Don’t miss the chance to experience creativity and sustainability in a whole new way.
Please note: This poetry slam event will be held exclusively in German.
The ticket includes a drink and a snack. Additional drinks and snacks can also be purchased.

Daniel Wagner
from Heidelberg
Daniel Wagner began slamming in 2007 and is now a record-breaking finalist at the German Poetry Slam Championships. He has been national champion three times and German-speaking runner-up twice. He regularly performs on various stages, trumpeting entertaining, dark, and bitter satire as well as lighthearted and cheerful nonsense, served up on a slate of outrageous smirks and insane word juggling.

Dominik Heißler
from Freiburg
At almost two meters tall, Dominik Heißler is one of the tallest poets in the German-speaking world. This proves how elastic the word "almost" is and how diverse the concept of greatness can be. The teacher, journalist, and poetry slammer performs primarily on stages in and around Freiburg, and has been doing so for several years. He breaks middle-aged taboos, draws lines between antiquity and the present, and takes aim at the German language, but most of all, at himself. In April 2024, he became the Baden-Württemberg Poetry Slam Champion. Now he believes it, too.

Caterina John
from Basel
Caterina John is a young writer from Basel. She is particularly active in the spoken word field, where she leads workshops, moderates events, and performs on various Swiss stages. Poetry, short texts, and short stories fill pages in notebooks and the storage space on her laptop. She writes about everyday things, sometimes quirkily, sometimes wittily.

Lilie Prokoptchouk is the neighborhood poet who shares her writings in living rooms, cars, and—occasionally—on stage. She likes to wear colorful socks and decorate life with words.

Marvin Suckut
from Stuttgart
Marvin Suckut can look back on over 1,500 performances at poetry slams, readings, and other literary events. Since 2010, he has lived and worked in Konstanz, where he organizes and moderates his own literary events around Lake Constance. In 2012, his first book, "Ich kann ja sonst nichts," was published by Tinx Verlag. Over the past few years, he has won over 500 poetry slams. He was runner-up in the Baden-Württemberg poetry slam competition in 2013 and 2014 and reached the finals of the German-speaking championships in Stuttgart in 2016. He also regularly gives workshops at schools and other institutions.

Jana Goller
from Wipperfürth
Jana Goller has been a fixture in the German-speaking poetry slam scene for 10 years, and she's also absolutely hilarious. The author from Wipperfürth manages to translate the struggles of existing as a queer woman in this society into hilarious gags and profound lyrics. Jana advocates for feminist causes and queer visibility on stage in various organizations, works more days than there are hours in a week, and yet she's still not her therapist's favorite patient—we're surprised, too! Jana has performed several times at the annual NRW Poetry Slam Championships and was a finalist in Bielefeld in 2021.
